Here are some “sound bites” from yesterday’s sermon, “How Bethlehem Missed Christmas”:
- Bethlehem knew that the Savior would be born there.
- Bethlehem saw the star.
- Bethlehem didn’t put two and two together.
- Bethlehem was distracted by the census and all it entailed.
- The shepherds received the word from the Angel of God and went straight-away into town to see it for themselves.
- The shepherds praised God at seeing the babe as the angel had described.
- Even after the shepherds left, none of the other folks around went to notify the temple.
- We, too, are so busy with the wrappings and entrappings of Christmas that we miss the birth of the Savior.
- America will miss Christmas again this year.
