Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s sermon, “Jesus: the One and Only” based on John 14:1-7.
- Jesus said He was THE way, THE truth, and THE life.
- If you want to get to God, you have to go through Jesus.
- True Christianity is not a religion; it is a relationship.
- The difference between Christianity and other religions is that God reached down to have mercy on mankind. Other religions teach you have to work your way to God or win His merit.
- People think that different religions are just different paths up the same mountain with God as their goal. There is only one road that leads to God: Jesus.
- Some people think that good intentions will get you to Heaven. The road to Hell is paved with good intentions.
- Some people believe that Jesus simply opened the gates of Heaven giving us the opportunity to earn our way in. God’s word says that salvation is a “gift of God” and not as a result of anything you do, so that you can’t brag about it.
