Services Cancelled through March 29, 2020

Posted by Rick on March 18, 2020

Dear ISBC Family and Friends,

The leadership team, consisting of deacons, yokefellows, and myself, met last night and unanimously recommends to voluntarily abide by the government recommendations in the abatement of the coronavirus pandemic. In doing so, we will cancel all church services and meetings beginning today, March 18 and go through March 29. We will meet again on March 31 to re-evaluate the situation.

This was not done out of fear, but was done with the best in mind for our elderly members, immuno-compromised members, and the good of our community.

This is a stressful time for all. Please check on each other and pray for each other, and for me. Seek opportunities to serve your neighbor and to share the Gospel. The world is wrought in panic right now; we stand on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ!

Sunday School teachers, I recommend that you contact each of your class members and see if they are willing to meet in small groups in someone’s home. Do not pressure or force anyone to meet who may feel at risk.

I will be at the church building throughout the week. You can get in touch with me on the church phone (918) 485-5115 or on my cell phone. I will attempt to livestream my sermon on Sunday via FaceBook Live. I will make the announcement later as to what time.

If you are willing to help out our elderly members, who may be reluctant to face the panicky crowds at Walmart, would you indicate your willingness by texting me, calling me, or private messaging me.

I guarantee the devil means all of this for evil, BUT, “we know that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose!” (Romans 8:28)

If you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Blessings to you and your family during this crazy time,
