Immanuel Southern Baptist Church will ordain John Couch and Dean Haley to the Gospel Ministry on Sunday, October 5, 2014, at 3 pm. Ordained men may participate in the questioning at 2 pm. Come for Sunday School at 9:45, Worship at 10:50 and stay for lunch!
Kathy Keck has begun serving as the Ministry Assistant for the pastor. Kathy has a broad background in office and secretarial skills, having just retired from Kevin Grover GMC here in Wagoner.
Kathy has been a member of ISBC since 2014 and is married to Richard Keck, who serves as our Sunday School Director. They make their home in Porter.
May the Lord bless Kathy with fruitful service at Immanuel Southern!
Immanuel Southern Baptist Church will break ground on September 14, 2014, on a new Children’s Ministry Center!
The 3900 sq ft building will include a new nursery, classrooms, and a children’s assembly area, as well as a new suite of restrooms for the church.
The estimated $120,000 cost includes remodeling the old children’s wing and nursery to become the new Youth Wing!
Construction is expected to last about 8 months.
Join the ceremony at 1:30 on Sunday, September 14, 611 N. Gertrude, Wagoner, OK 74467. We’ll begin with dinner on the grounds at noon.
Donations for construction can be sent to the same address.
Today marks 7 years that I have been pastor of Immanuel. I wrote about it on my personal blog.
VBS took place June 9-13 with a total enrollment of 101 children. Average attendance was 83. 20 children made decisions to trust Jesus for their salvation! An average of 43 volunteers helped each night.
A VBS Family Celebration was held on Sunday evening, June 15 with the children performing the songs they learned, a slide show of the week’s activities, Award Certificates for the children, sharing of the Gospel with the families, and a drawing for a 32 gig iTouch.
Followup has begun with the children who made decisions and with the families who do not attend church anywhere.
Thanks to all who prayed, gave, and helped to make our VBS a wonderful success! All glory to God!

Rev. Dean Haley was elected by acclamation at the March Business Meeting to the position of Children’s Director.
Dean is married to Wanda, the secretary for the Muskogee Baptist Association. He is the former pastor of New Faith Baptist Church in Muskogee. He has previously been in children’s ministry for many years and is affectionately known as “Candy Man”. Dean is employed at Dal-Tile in Muskogee.
Dean will coordinate all of the children’s ministries at ISBC including Children’s Church, Children’s Camp, Children’s Choir, and will coordinate with VBS and Sunday School regarding appropriate materials and curriculum.

Vacation Bible School at Immanuel Southern Baptist Church will take place June 9-13, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:30 pm with a Family Celebration on Sunday, June 15 at 6 pm.
