It’s been exactly one week since two Wagoner families lost everything they own in a house fire. I set up a benefit account at First Bank and Trust in Wagoner called, “Benefit Fund for Rankin Family Fire Disaster.” I was required to make an initial deposit to open the account.
I called the bank Friday morning at 9:45 to check the balance. I am extremely disappointed to report that one week after the fire disaster, there have been no other deposits made to this account.
I spoke with family members Wednesday night. They said they have clothes for the children, but have not yet secured a house to rent. And, of course, they also had to endure the robbery of their burned out house. Thieves took the washer & dryer, furnace, hot water tank, air conditioner unit, and the bicycles and lawnmower that were stored outside!
If you would like to donate to help these families, please send your check (in any amount) to

Donations in any amount will be appreciated.

ISBC is excited to announce the formation of CIA-Christianity in Action! This is the youth group of Immanuel Southern and they will be meeting on Wednesday evenings at 6 pm to 8:30 pm in the youth room. Our newest ISBC member, Tony Boyd, and his wife, Lori, will be leading this dynamic time of fellowship and Bible Study. We are excited to see what God will be doing through CIA.
Tony and Lori moved back to Wagoner from Omaha, NE. Tony feels a call from God to work with youth and we are blessed to have them in our congregation. Tony was recently placed on the Board of Eternity Fraternity.
We have created a youth page on this website along with a Facebook page.

VBS at Immanuel Southern will be June 8-12, 2009. Children who have completed kindergarten through 5th grade are invited to attend.
We will begin promptly at 9:00 am and will end by 11:30 am. Children should arrive no earlier than 8:45 am.
There will be a special early registration time on Saturday, June 6 from 9:00 to 11:30 am. All children must be registered to attend. Registration will include parents’ names and addresses, phone numbers and an emergency contact as well as allergy and medical information. Children do not have to be a member of any church to attend. There is no charge for Vacation Bible School.
It is our goal to care for the children of Wagoner and to show them God’s love. Sessions will include an opening ceremony (with pledges to the American flag, the Christian flag, and the Bible), music, crafts, and a Bible lesson. All children will be expected to attend a final session on June 14 at 6:00 pm, where they will perform the songs they have learned and receive a certificate of attendance. Parents, family and friends are invited and encouraged to attend.
Please call 485-5115 to register or to ask for more information.

I know there are many people in Wagoner who read the posts on our church website but do not attend Immanuel Southern. This post is for you!

This Sunday is our annual Church Thanksgiving Dinner. You and your family are invited to share this dinner with us!
Our Thanksgiving service starts at 10:50 (or there about) and we should dismiss for dinner at about noon.
Our dinner is a potluck with the church providing the turkey. You do not NEED to bring anything to attend. If you want to bring a dish or a dessert, you are more than welcome to do so. We want YOU more than your food!
Call 485-5115 if you have any questions or need a ride.
See you Sunday!
