Bits & Bytes

Posted by Rick on May 11, 2009

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s sermon, “What is a Christian?” based on Acts 11:19-26

  • Just because you call yourself a Christian, doesn’t make you one.
  • There should be evidence in your life of your new life in Christ.
  • A Christian shows evidence of believing.
  • A Christian shows evidence of adhering to God’s word.
  • A Christian shows evidence of being filled with the Holy Spirit.
  • A Christian shows evidence of faithful service to God.
  • A Christian shows evidence of witnessing (telling) their faith.

You can listen to the sermon by clicking on the audio player below, or by going to www.sermon.net/rboyne and searching for the sermon title.

Revival Wrap-up

Posted by Rick on April 25, 2008

What a great time!  Bro Bob Shoemake provided us encouraging, challenging messages each night and Sunday morning.  Bro Martin Whipple led us into worship.  We laughed.  We cried.  We felt God move among us.

To sum up in one sentence what Bro Bob preached about the whole week would be something like “Revival is to bring God’s people back to ‘normal'”.  Bro Bob challenged us to not be casual, cultural Christians, but to be sold-out followers of Jesus Christ!  He encouraged us to get our of our comfort zone and into the world, for that’s where the lost people are.

As we continually spoke about, revival isn’t just an event on the calendar; it is a fresh working of God in the lives of the church.  We are to keep our own revival going.  It can last much longer than just the days listed on the calendar.  It can change our families, our community, our state, and yes, even our nation!

May God richly bless you as you continue to seek Him!

PS:  I just added several photos from the revival to our photo album.  You can click here to see them.
