Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday’s sermon: Love in Action, I John 3:16-18:
- Jesus laid down his life (literally) for us
- He left the presence of God
- He abandoned the form of God
- He suffered and bled and died for us
- We should lay down our lives for others
- Jesus left his comfort zone for us; why can’t we spend 20 minutes doing something nice for someone else?
- If we don’t actually die for someone, we can sacrifice our time or our effort.
- Practical ways we can do that include:
- listening
- speaking truth, speaking encouragement
- serving others
- going beyond what is expected of us
- Don’t just TELL someone you love them; SHOW them!
