Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s sermon, “When Depression Looms” based on Psalm 77:
-
Send an “S.O.S.” to God.
-
Emotions sabotage reason.
-
Don’t pretend; be honest with God. Don’t think you will offend God by “opening up”.
-
Choose to redirect your thoughts; focus on past times where God blessed you.
-
Magnify God to diminish your problems.
-
Worship is not the natural tendancy of the depressed person.
-
Worship can move you from self-absorbed depression to a God-enthralled declaration of faith.
