Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday’s sermon, “Christmas Boxes” based on Luke 1:26-38:
- Gabriel was sent by God to tell Mary that she had been chosen to bear His son
- Mary was surprised but consented
- When Joseph and Mary got to Bethlehem, there was no room for them with anyone so they had to stay in the stable
- The first “box” was the manger; Jesus was wrapped in cloths and lying in it.
- The second “box” was the gift of the Magi
- The third “box” was the Garden Tomb. It was borrowed, because it wasn’t going to be used for very long.
- The gift is still available today and has your name written on it.
- Won’t you open your heart to Jesus?
