  • Bobbi Hess to Lead Cookie Ministry

Bobbi Hess has agreed to lead the Cookie Ministry of Immanuel Southern Baptist Church.

The Cookie Ministry provides cookies to the inmates of the Wagoner County Jail as a direct response to the words of Jesus that said, “I was in prison and you didn’t visit me.”

The Cookie Ministry provides a bag of cookies (and sometimes candy) along with a salvation tract. Over the past few years, several inmates have written to the church expressing their gratefulness at being remembered and to indicate they have put their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation.

  • Wednesday Youth & Children Service Times Change

IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!! Starting August 24, Wednesday youth and children services will begin at 6:30, due to the extended time Wagoner Schools have changed this year. Children will eat a light supper; youth will go immediately into praise and worship. If a youth wants to eat, they can come a little bit early, or if they ride the bus, they can eat, then go into the service. If you have any questions, please ask John or Bonnie Couch, Dean Haley, or Rick Boyne.

  • Danger Notice!

I was just made aware of a dangerous situation. The recent wind storm has downed some electric wires at the back of the church. Tom Roberts called to tell me that the city told him that the wires were still live. They told him that they were stacked up and will get to it as soon as possible.

In the meantime, I have posted danger signs on the pole and am writing you to bring your attention to this. Please do not let children play around this pole, and please do not try to move them yourself. The ends of the wire are covered, but they are still live.

  • ISBC Falls Creek Report

    2016 group (small)

Pathfinders attended the first week of the 2016 Falls Creek Camp Season, June 6-10. We rented the Soldier Creek cabin which served our needs quite well. Out of 28 students who attended, 2 were saved, 1 was rededicated, 2 came for baptism, and one surrendered to ministry!

We had 5 students serve on the Decision Team and assisted other students with salvation, re-dedications, and other other decisions.

We had 8 adult sponsors and were able to make use of our new buses. Sponsor Kim Stevens, the head cook, won first place in the 2016 Week One Falls Creek Bake Off, Breads Division!

    Kim Stevens

Last night, those who were able to make it to church, gave a verbal report. The pastor was quoted as saying “It was the best Falls Creek report I’ve ever seen.”

  • Zona Tillman to Lead Cookie Ministry

    Zona Tillman1
    Zona Tillman

Zona Tillman was elected by acclamation to lead ISBC’s Cookie Ministry Team at the regular July monthly business meeting last night.  Zona has a passion for evangelism and will be a breath of fresh air to this important ministry.

Ladies of the church prepare cookies in sacks that contain Gospel tracts and distribute them at the Wagoner County Jail once a month. Inmates have written to indicate that they have been saved because of this ministry.

  • Pakistan Partnership

ISBC has entered into a partnership with a church and orphanage in Pakistan. They have changed their name to Immanuel Baptist Church in Pakistan. They are extremely focused on church planting among the minority groups in Eastern Pakistan.

Their orphanage is New Hope Christian School and Orphanage. It provides room and board for street kids in Punjab province. They have a Facebook page with more information here.

Pray for the leadership of ISBP and NHCS as they build God’s kingdom in a dark and dangerous land.

Email the pastor for information about how you can become involved with this partnership.

  • 2015 VBS Report

2015 VBS has come and gone and it will be known as a “success!”

We had 92 children registered with an average attendance of 57. We inadvertently scheduled VBS at the same time as a major city event. We’ll make different arrangements in 2016.

We had 13 children express faith in Jesus Christ as their savior!

We had 45 different volunteers over the week.

We rejoice for the Lord using us to build His Kingdom!
