We are pleased to announce that both Dean Haley and John Couch have been called by unanimous vote to serve as our Minister of Children and Minister of Youth, respectively. In a Special Called Business Meeting in the evening of October 26, the church recognized God’s call in both men and approved them by unanimous vote. May God bless both of them, their families, and their ministries!

Church to Vote on Roberts at Business Meeting
Tom Roberts
Our regularly scheduled quarterly business meeting will be this Wednesday at 7 pm. However, there won’t be much “regular” about it as the church will be voting on whether to call Tom Roberts as our Minister of Music. The search committee has met and has offered Bro Tom the possition and he has accepted, pending a vote of the church.
We will also be electing a new nominating committee that will get right to work on filling the positions for the other committees for our September Business Meeting.

ISBC to Co-Sponsor New Native American Work
Sunday Evening, May 10, 2009, Immanuel Southern Baptist Church voted, in a special “called” business meeting to co-sponsor with 1st Indian Baptist Church (Muskogee) a new Native American work. The new mission will be hosted here at ISBC and will eventually be located in Wagoner.
Bro. Bill Sherrill, Director of Mission for Muskogee Baptist Association spoke at the meeting to help explain expectations and responsibilities. After a good discussion with many pertinent questions, the church voted and the motion passed!
It is expected that there will be a Fall 2009 start to the work. Most of the details have yet to be discussed, however, with the vote last night, those discussions can now begin in earnest!
Pray with us as we step out in faith to do something our church has never done before. However, as we seek to fulfill the Great Commission right here at home, we are sure that God will bless us and will bless this new church plant!
