Bits & Bytes

Posted by Rick on February 23, 2009

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday’s sermon, “Numbered, Weighed, and Divided” based on Daniel 5:

  • King Belshazzar did not learn from his father’s mistakes.
  • The king offended God by using sacred objects for show.
  • No one could read God’s hand-writing on the wall.
  • Daniel interpreted for the the King and God’s word came true that very night.
  • Many people still do not understand what God says.
  • We will be weighed by God’s standard, not by our own.
  • The Bible says that when we are weighed, like King Belshazzar, we will come up short.
  • The good news is that Jesus died for us, taking our punishment on Himself.

You can also listen to Sunday evening’s sermon, “Excuses”, based on I Corinthians 10:11-13 here or by clicking on the audio player below:

Sunday’s Coming!

Posted by Rick on February 20, 2009

Join us this Sunday at Immanuel when we take a look at Daniel 5 “Numbered, Weighed, and Divided” better known as The Handwriting on the Wall.  Sunday evening, we’ll take a look at “Excuses” people use to sin, based on I Corinthians 10:11-13.

Be sure to invite someone to Sunday School, and if you don’t come yourself, get up a little earlier and join a Sunday School class!  You’ll be glad you did.
