Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday Morning’s sermon, “A Lesson in Humility” based on Luke 14:7-14:
- Jesus is THE model for humility
- A servant cannot be greater than their master, and Jesus humbled himself completely
- Don’t choose a place of honor; you may be asked to vacate it for someone else
- Choose a place of humility; you might be asked to ‘move up’
- Do you want to be great in God’s kingdom? Be a servant.
- Pick the jobs no one else wants to do. Pick the people that one one else wants to be around
- Humble yourself and God will lift you up
