Here are some “sound bites” from my Sunday morning message, “Back to the Basics – Salvation” based on John 3:1-21:
Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus only.
Jesus is the ONLY way to Heaven.
Salvation is a gift, not a reward.
Being good doesn’t get you to Heaven.

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “Some Implications of Grace” based on Galatians 3:1-5:
The Law doesn’t save you
The Law doesn’t perfect you
The Law doesn’t give life
The Law shows us our sin
We are saved by grace
Grace should dominate our lives, not the law

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “Christ, Our Example: Humility” based on Philippians 2:5-11:
Christ emptied Himself when He became flesh.
He took on the form of a servant.
He became a servant as He completed His work of redemption.
If the Master is an example of being a servant, then we must follow His example!

Here are some sound bites from Sunday Morning’s sermon, “The Upside Down Kingdom” based on Mark 9:33-37:
The values of God’s Kingdom are exactly upside down from the values of this world
Jesus said if you want to be great in God’s Kingdom, you must be last, not first.
Jesus said if you want to be great in God’s Kingdom, you must be a servant of all, not seek to be served.
Jesus said if you want to be great in God’s Kingdom, you must love everyone, especially those who aren’t easy to love.

Here are some “sound bites” from last Sunday’s message, “Who God Looks For” based on Isaiah 66:1-6:
God looks for the one who is humble.
God looks for the one who is contrite.
God looks for the one who trembles at His word.
God will not use the proud.
God will not use the unrepentant.
God will not use the one who disregards His word.

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “You Could Be Next” based on Matthew 26:69-75:
Spiritual pride can bring down even the mighty.
We must always be on our guard against pride.
We must put on humility.
False humility doesn’t cut it.
We must acknowledge the weakness of our flesh.

Here are some “sound bites” from Palm Sunday’s sermon, “The Lord Has Need”, based on Matthew 21:1-9:
The triumphant entry into Jerusalem was the only time on earth that Jesus was recognized as king.
There will be another time, but that time He won’t be riding a donkey and EVERYONE will eventually acknowledge Him as king.
If the Lord can use a stinky, stubborn, humble donkey, He can use you, too!
We must be willing to be used by God.

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday Morning’s sermon, “A Lesson in Humility” based on Luke 14:7-14:
Jesus is THE model for humility
A servant cannot be greater than their master, and Jesus humbled himself completely
Don’t choose a place of honor; you may be asked to vacate it for someone else
Choose a place of humility; you might be asked to ‘move up’
Do you want to be great in God’s kingdom? Be a servant.
Pick the jobs no one else wants to do. Pick the people that one one else wants to be around
Humble yourself and God will lift you up

Join us this Sunday at Immanuel Southern as we have “A Lesson in Humility”. We’ll examine Jesus’ parable in Luke 14:7-14 and see how that relates to us today. Sunday evening, we’ll conclude our study of Ephesians by looking at the second part of the “Armor of God”. Last Sunday, I couldn’t get it all in one message, so this Sunday, we’ll look at the Shield of Faith, Helmut of Salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit.
Sunday evening, after services, we’ll have our Finger Food Fellowship. Be sure to invite your friends!

Here are some “sound bites” from this morning’s sermon, “God Bless America” based on 2 Chronicles 7:14-22:
Our nation was founded on Christian principles,
We have wandered away from God’s path and have chosen our own path.
We have ceased to worship God and instead now worship ourselves.
We must must humble ourselves.
We must pray.
We must seek God.
We must repent of our evil ways.
May God continue to bless the United States of America!
