  • Bits & Bytes

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday Morning’s sermon, “What Are You Afraid Of?” based on Romans 8:35-38:

    • There is nothing that can separate us from God’s love once we accept Jesus as Lord.
    • When we are adopted into God’s family, He writes His name on us.
    • When we are adopted into God’s family, our old lineage/heritage is done away with.
    • We cannot separate ourselves from God’s love.
    • We don’t quit being His children when we sin.
    • Our sin interferes with our relationship, but not our status.

    • Jesus invites you to come to Him.
    • The burden of religion is too much for us to carry.
    • Jesus says that you can put His yoke on, for it is easy and His burden is light.
    • Once we put on His yoke, we begin to learn from Him.

  • VBS Prayer Request

Our Vacation Bible School starts tomorrow (Monday) and there was a slip up with our notice being in our local weekly paper.  It wasn’t included in this week’s issue.  That means, that our only publicity is our internet site, our roadside sign, many posters we’ve placed around town and word of mouth.

Would you take a moment to pray that God would provide kids for our VBS?  Our church hasn’t conducted one in more than 5 years.

Thanks for participating in our ministry with us!

  • Baptism!

    Jim Lane baptism

    Jim Lane

Today, we had the privilege of being witness to the baptism of Jim Lane.  Jim and Sue joined our church last week and Jim had never been baptized.  We took care of that today!

May God bless Jim and Sue as they find places of service at ISBC!

    Taylor Gipson

    Bro Rick & Taylor Gipson

This past Sunday, those in attendance at ISBC had the privilege of witnessing the baptism of Taylor Gipson.  Taylor accepted the Lord and was saved a couple of weeks ago.  To make the day even more special, his mother and step-father also joined our fellowship!

God bless you, Taylor, as you grow in Jesus!

  • Bits & Bytes

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s sermon, “Going Through the Motions” based on Mark 10:46-52:

    • Sometimes we find ourselves in a spiritual rut.
    • When we simply go through the motions, we aren’t living the life that God wants for us.
    • God wants our spiritual condition to be healthy.
    • When we pretend, we make things worse for us.
    • It is up to us to call out to God for His help.

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday’s sermon, “Test Yourself” based on 2 Corinthians 13:5-7:

    • Paul urges us to test ourselves to see if Christ is in us.
    • When we face God in judgement, that will be the first question on the test.
    • If we pass that test, we pass.
    • If we fail that test, we will be cast away.
