Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “Know Your Bible” based on Acts 17:10-12:

  • We must know what is and isn’t in God’s word as to not be deceived.
  • We must be ready to give a defense of our beliefs
  • We must hunger for God’s word
  • We must not take a Scripture verse out of context to prove our point.

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “Part-time Christians” based on Matthew 23:23-28

  • Jesus condemns people who try to obey the smallest part of the law but ignore the import stuff.
  • Jesus says the important stuff is justice (fairness), mercy/compassion, and faithfulness.
  • We too often only “act” like Christians when it is convenient for us.
  • We need to realize we have been bought with a price.

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “How to Be Saved” based on Romans 10:1-13:

  • We can’t “do” anything; God has done it all through Jesus.
  • We are saved by grace, through faith.  Nothing else.
  • Believe on Jesus.
  • Confess Jesus as Lord.
  • Baptism and repentance come BECAUSE of our faith in Jesus; not as a vehicle of grace.

Sunday’s Coming!

Posted by Rick on September 11, 2008

Join us at Immanuel this Sunday as we ask the question, “What on Earth are you doing for Heaven’s sake?”  Are you investing in eternity, or are you just playing around in this world?  Sunday morning, we’ll take a look at Matthew 6:19-21.

Saturday morning is our monthly fellowship breakfast.  You are invited to come and eat with us at 8:30 Saturday morning.  We’ll have bisquits and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, and some other delicious things!  Invite your friends and let’s make a morning of it!
