Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “How to Be Saved” based on Romans 10:1-13:

  • We can’t “do” anything; God has done it all through Jesus.
  • We are saved by grace, through faith.  Nothing else.
  • Believe on Jesus.
  • Confess Jesus as Lord.
  • Baptism and repentance come BECAUSE of our faith in Jesus; not as a vehicle of grace.

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “The Blood of Christ” based on Hebrews 9:11-22:

  • The vileness of sin is so great it required an equally vile cure.
  • Blood has been required to cover sin since Adam and Eve sinned and God had to kill an animal to make clothes for them.
  • The blood of bulls and goats are not good enough to forgive sin.
  • Jesus became the acceptable sacrifice.
  • Jesus’ sacrifice only had to be made once.
  • His sacrifice is available to all who believe.

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s sermon, “Borrowing Worry” based on Matthew 6:25-34)

  • Jesus said, “Do not worry”.  That is a command.
  • We worry when we take our eyes off of God and keep them on our troubles.
  • God knows what we need.  That might be different than what we want.
  • It isn’t about you.  It is about God.
  • Worry is the interest we pay when we borrow from tomorrow’s problems.

You can listen to the sermon here or click on the audio player below.

You can also listen to Sunday evening’s sermon, “Help My Unbelief!”, based on Mark 9:14-24 here or by clicking on the audio player below.

Sunday’s Coming!

Posted by Rick on October 2, 2008

Join us at Immanuel this Sunday as we take a look at the words of Jesus where He tells us not to worry.  Our sermon will be “Borrowing Worry” based on Matthew 6:25-34.  Sunday evening, we’ll look at the story of the man with the son who had a demon.  His disciples couldn’t cast it out and the man told Jesus to, “if you can”.  Jesus replied that “with God, all things are possible.”  The sermon is “Help My Unbelief” based on Mark 9:14-24.

Invite your family, friends and neighbors!  They’ll be glad you did!

Here are some “Sound Bites” from Sunday morning’s sermon, “Practical Atheism” based on I Samuel 17:

  • Many Christians live a life no different than a non-Christian.
  • Many Christians continue to ignore God in their everyday lives.
  • Many Christians have forgotten what God has done for them.
  • Many Christians focus on their physical needs instead of their spiritual needs.
  • Many Christians choose to remain inactive, instead of working for the Lord.
  • If you were accused of being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?

You can listen to “Practical Atheism” here, or by clicking on the player below.

Due to a technical error, Sunday evening’s sermon, “Give it up” was not recorded.
