Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “The Christian Life: Prayer” based on Matthew 6:5-13. It is the first of a four part series on the Essentials of the Christian Life:
We are privileged to call God “Father”
We should worship and adore God in our prayers.
We should pray for our needs and for God’s guidance.
We should praise the Lord and thank Him for His blessings.
We are privileged to approach God’s throne because of what Jesus has done for us.
Those who have not believed on Jesus cannot call God “Father”.

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “How to Be Saved” based on Romans 10:1-13:
We can’t “do” anything; God has done it all through Jesus.
We are saved by grace, through faith. Nothing else.
Believe on Jesus.
Confess Jesus as Lord.
Baptism and repentance come BECAUSE of our faith in Jesus; not as a vehicle of grace.

Here are some “Sound Bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “Good Intentions” based on Matthew 26:31-35, 69-75:
God is not interested in your “intention to be obedient”
God is only interested in your obedience.
Peter never intended to deny Christ.
When it came down to it, Peter did not follow through on his intention to stay with Jesus, even if he had to die with Him.

Here are some “sound bites” from yesterday’s morning sermon, “A Passion For God” based on Matthew 22:35-40:
The “bottom line” is God wants us to love Him.
He also wants us to love others.
He wants us to love Him with all our heart.
He wants us to love Him with all our soul.
He wants us to love Him with all our mind.
That’s how He loves us!

After a great delay, here are some sound bites from the morning sermon from October 3, 2010, “God’s Way” based on Matthew 26:36-46:
Following God isn’t easy, but it isn’t impossible, either.
God demands obedience.
Often what we want comes before obedience.

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “Cafeteria Christianity” based on II Timothy 3:14-17:
You can’t pick and choose what you are going to believe or obey based on what pleases you.
All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable.
Jesus said, “If you love me, obey My commandments.”
Following Jesus isn’t easy.

Here are some “Sound Bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “A Matter of Obedience” based on Matthew 25:14-30:
We must be willing and available to obey God.
God expects a return on His investment of your soul.
We better not show up empty handed.
God expects that we be faithful to share with others after we are saved.

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday Morning’s sermon, “God Has a Plan” based on Jeremiah 29:11-13:
We try to make our own plans, but usually just end up making a mess.
We should not try to ask God to simply bless the plans we have made.
We should seek God’s plan then adapt to it!
God wants us to succeed; success may not always be what we think it is.

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s sermon, “Fireproof Faith” based on Daniel 3:13-31:
Hannaniah, Mishael, and Azariah were faced with obedience to God or compromise to save their hide.
Rather than compromise, they trusted God to save them.
They had decided that even IF God chose to not save them, they weren’t going to bow to the idol.
We won’t typically face those types of decisions because we will have already compromised.
We face the decision between obedience and compromise a hundred times a day.
We must be faithful to God and trust His way.

Here are some “sound bites” from yesterday morning’s sermon, “Baptism: God’s Command” based on Romans 6:1-7
Baptism does not save you.
Baptism is an act of obedience that demonstrates what has already taken place in your heart.
Baptism identifies you as a follower of Jesus Christ.
Baptism by immersion is the proper method of baptism for it symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.
A believer who delays baptism, delays obedience.
