Here are some sound bites from Sunday Morning’s sermon, “The Upside Down Kingdom” based on Mark 9:33-37:

  • The values of God’s Kingdom are exactly upside down from the values of this world
  • Jesus said if you want to be great in God’s Kingdom, you must be last, not first.
  • Jesus said if you want to be great in God’s Kingdom, you must be a servant of all, not seek to be served.
  • Jesus said if you want to be great in God’s Kingdom, you must love everyone, especially those who aren’t easy to love.

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “Full Strength Love” based on I Peter 4:7-11:

  • In the last days people will be self-centered and have a shallow love, diluted by the world and self interests.
  • In the last days, Christians should be fervent in their love toward one another, undiluted by the world.
  • We should set a good example for the world.
  • Others will know that we are Jesus’ disciples by our love for one another.

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “The Christian Life: Prayer” based on Matthew 6:5-13.  It is the first of a four part series on the Essentials of the Christian Life:

  • We are privileged to call God “Father”
  • We should worship and adore God in our prayers.
  • We should pray for our needs and for God’s guidance.
  • We should praise the Lord and thank Him for His blessings.
  • We are privileged to approach God’s throne because of what Jesus has done for us.
  • Those who have not believed on Jesus cannot call God “Father”.

  • The “bottom line” is God wants us to love Him.
  • He also wants us to love others.
  • He wants us to love Him with all our heart.
  • He wants us to love Him with all our soul.

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “The Mark of a True Disciple” based on John 1:35-42:

  • American Christians have been lied to for too long.
  • They’ve been told that they only have to attend church and give money to be a Christian.
  • Jesus expects more.
  • He expects us to love each other.
  • He expects us to die to ourselves every day.
  • He expects us to obey Him.
  • A TRUE disciple MAKES disciples!

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s sermon, “The Cross of Christ” based on I Corinthians 1:18-25:

  • The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing.
  • The message of the cross is the power of God to those who are being saved.
  • The cross is a symbol of God’s great love for us.
  • The cross is a reminder of the vileness of our sin.
  • People try to make sense out of God’s plan, but it confounds them.
  • Christianity isn’t really a religion; it is a relationship.
