  • Bits & Bytes

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “The Acceptable Sacrifice” based on Luke 23:33-46:

    • Sin separates man from God.
    • Before the crucifixion, this was represented by the Veil of the Temple.
    • Only the High Priest was allowed into the Holy of Holies.
    • At Jesus’ death, the veil was torn in two, from top to bottom.
    • Jesus’ death was the acceptable sacrifice to God.
    • No more would the blood of goats and bulls be needed to atone for sin.
    • Jesus’ blood would forevermore atone for sin.
    • Forgiveness is available to all who would believe this.

  • Bits & Bytes

Here are some “Sound Bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “Righteous for the Unrighteous” based on Matthew 27:15-26:

    • Pilate knew Jesus was innocent.
    • Pilate thought he could persuade the crowd to release Jesus instead of the murderer Barabbas.
    • The priests and elders convinced the people to ask for Barabbas.
    • This surprised Pilate and did as they asked to avoid a riot.
    • Jesus was innocent and suffered punishment.
    • Barabbas was guilty and set free.
    • We are like Barabbas.

  • Bits & Bytes

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “Unleavened People” based on Luke 22:7-20:

    • Unleavened bread represents Israel’s freedom from bondage under the Egyptians.
    • Unleavened bread represents Christians’ freedom from sin under the blood of Jesus.
    • Leaven represents sin.
    • We are told to get the leaven out of our lives.

  • ISBC to Sponsor F.A.I.T.H Riders Chapter

ISBC voted unanimously to sponsor a F.A.I.T.H Riders Chapter at the monthly business meeting held March 9, 2011.

Jim Fallen and Gerald Hornsey will organize and head the chapter.

F.A.I.T.H Riders is a “Motorcycle ministry passionate about sharing “F.A.I.T.H. through Christian fellowship.”

    F.A.I.T.H. stands for:

F is for Forgiveness.  We cannot have eternal life and heaven without God’s forgiveness.

A is for Available.  Forgiveness is available for all, but it is not automatic.

I is for Impossible.  It is impossible for God to allow sin into heaven.  It is also impossible to please God through our own    actions.

T is for Turn.  Turn means to repent from sin and self to Christ only.

H is for Heaven.  Heaven is eternal life, here and now and in the hereafter – but only through Christ.  Forsaking all, I trust            Him!

F.A.I.T.H. Riders is unique in that, through the Lord’s direction, each chapter must be a ministry based within a local Southern Baptist church.

The ISBC Chapter will relate to the Oklahoma F.A.I.T.H. Riders and participate in local, state, and national rides.

If you are interested in more information about our local chapter, please email FAITHRiders@immanuelsouthern.com.
