  • Bits & Bytes

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “Heaven” based on Revelation 21:1-27:

    • Heaven is a real place.
    • Heaven is being prepared for those who have their names written in the Book of Life.
    • We only have a glimpse of Heaven as conveyed by Apostle J0hn.
    • Our understanding of Heaven is not complete.
    • Jesus is there.

  • ISBC to Host Peace in Recovery

We are please to announce that ISBC will be hosting the Wagoner Peace in Recovery group, as part of Narcotics Anonymous.  They will meet in the Fellowship Hall Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30 pm (Sunday at 3 pm).

The struggle to overcome drug addiction is difficult, even with a support group, but nearly impossible if done alone.  Peace in Recovery will provide the support and accountability needed to conquer this hardship.

For more information about Narcotics Anonymous, see their website.

For more information about this specific group, contact Greg at 918-770-3391 or Leon at 918-346-0115.

Call the church office at 918-485-5115 for additional information.

  • Bits & Bytes

Here are some “sound bites” from last Sunday’s morning message, “Stop GOING to church (and start BEING the church) based on James 1:22-25:

    • The church is the building.
    • The church is the members.
    • We are the body of Christ.
    • When we meet, it isn’t “church” – it is the assembling of the church.
    • We must have this mindset if we are to live as God would like us to live.

  • Bits & Bytes

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday mornings message, “The Full Armor of God” based on Ephesians 6:10-19.  It was a special service for a national guardsman deploying to Afghanistan:

    • Each piece of the armor is essential.
    • You cannot leave any piece of the armor out.
    • It is a complete personal defensive and offensive system.
    • It is given to be used, not just looked at.
    • You must be spiritually fit in order to use it properly.

You can listen to that message here or by clicking on the audio player below:

  • Bits & Bytes

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “The Christian Life: Stewardship” based on Mark 12:41-44:

    • Tithing is a command of the law of the Old Covenant.
    • There is no way Christians can biblically tithe today.
    • What we call tithing today is merely giving 10%.
    • God does not call us to tithe.
    • He calls us to give sacrificially.
    • He calls us to give faithfully.
    • He calls us to trust Him to meet our needs.
    • To require someone to tithe is nothing more than modern-day pharisee-ism and legalism.

Due to the deep snow and road conditions, Wednesday services will be canceled tonight.  We will postpone our business meeting until next week.

We will also cancel our monthly fellowship breakfast this Saturday and will not reschedule until next month.

We should be back to regular schedule by Sunday.

  • Sunday Services Canceled (Feb 6)

After much prayer and counsel, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel all Sunday services for February 6.

Many different elements were considered, but safety and care of church members must come first. We feel that it is still too dangerous for many members, especially the older ones, to drive, and some are still not yet able to make it out of their driveway. Also, the church parking lot has about a foot of snow with three foot snow drifts in places and it is impossible to park in the lot.

The Youth Baked Potato Fundraiser Luncheon has been postponed until February 20.

Please notify other members and/or friends who may not have email that we have canceled services. Be sure to check on your elderly family and neighbors.

Take this opportunity to practice “home church”; what many of our persecuted brothers and sisters must practice each week (or face imprisonment or harassment) in countries where the Gospel is not welcome.

May God bless you and keep you safe and warm during this Oklahoma “snow event.”
