Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “Some More Implications of Grace ” based on Colossians 3:12-17:
When we have accepted grace, we are able to extend grace to others.
We must put on a heart of compassion, love, & kindness
We must treat others like we want to be treated
We must let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts
We must let the word of Christ dwell within us

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “Some Implications of Grace” based on Galatians 3:1-5:
The Law doesn’t save you
The Law doesn’t perfect you
The Law doesn’t give life
The Law shows us our sin
We are saved by grace
Grace should dominate our lives, not the law

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “Part-time Christians” based on Matthew 23:23-28
Jesus condemns people who try to obey the smallest part of the law but ignore the import stuff.
Jesus says the important stuff is justice (fairness), mercy/compassion, and faithfulness.
We too often only “act” like Christians when it is convenient for us.
We need to realize we have been bought with a price.

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “The Promise of Resurrection” based on John 20:1-16:
Jesus promised He would rise again.
Since Jesus rose from the dead, we have the hope of eternal life.
God gives us the Holy Spirit as a promise of redemption.
Jesus promises us that He will one day return for us.

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “The Christian Life: Stewardship” based on Mark 12:41-44:
Tithing is a command of the law of the Old Covenant.
There is no way Christians can biblically tithe today.
What we call tithing today is merely giving 10%.
God does not call us to tithe.
He calls us to give sacrificially.
He calls us to give faithfully.
He calls us to trust Him to meet our needs.
To require someone to tithe is nothing more than modern-day pharisee-ism and legalism.

Here are some “sound bites” from last Sunday’s message, “Who God Looks For” based on Isaiah 66:1-6:
God looks for the one who is humble.
God looks for the one who is contrite.
God looks for the one who trembles at His word.
God will not use the proud.
God will not use the unrepentant.
God will not use the one who disregards His word.

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s message, “A Matter of Trust” based on Mark 12:41-44:
Tithing is an Old Testament concept
Tithing is not commanded in the New Testament
Tithing is a concept under the law
The New Testament model of giving is based on grace
The concept of tithing is abused and mis-guided in the church today
10% is a good place to start, but Jesus demands everything
If you can’t trust God with your finances, how can you trust Him with to save your soul?
If God isn’t Lord over your money, He probably isn’t Lord over your heart either.

Here are some “sound bites” from Sunday morning’s sermon, “Be Holy” based on I Peter 1:13-16:
Holiness is NOT a list of do’s and don’ts. That is religion. That is legalism.
Holiness IS conforming to the character of God and being obedient to the will of God.
Holiness is a commitment to a changed life.
Holiness is being in the Word and talking back to God through prayer.
Holiness is an attitude.
